Il-Proġett ‘MEMORJA’: It-tradizzjoni orali fl-Arkivji Nazzjonali ta’ Malta

L-Erbgħa 18 ta’ April 2018, fis-6.00pm, fis-Sala tal-Perjodiċi tal-Librerija ċentrali tal–Università ta’ Malta, Tal-Qroqq,  is-Sur James Baldacchino mill-Arkivji Nazzjonali ta’ Malta se jagħmel preżentazzjoni fuq il-proġett MEMORJA u x-xogħol li sar s’issa, b’enfasi fuq l-aspett orali u uman, speċjalment l-intervisti li saru.

Din it-taħdita hija parti mill-proġett tad-Dipartiment tal-Malti tal-Università dwar It-Tradizzjoni Orali.

Kulħadd għandu storja x’jirrakkonta u dan ix-xogħol qed isir sabiex dawn l-esperjenzi ma jintesewx u ma jintilfux. Is-Sur Baldaccino se jitkellem fuq il-ħames temi li l-Arkivji Nazzjonali ta’ Malta qed jaħdmu fuqhom u kif dawn intagħzlu, l-aktar fuq is-suggetti li qed jiġu riċerkati bil-Malti, jiġifieri it-Tieni Gwerra Dinjija, u l-Amministrazzjoni Pubblika. Jista’ jkun li jsir riferiment ukoll għad-Daqq tal-Qniepen.

The presentation will be about the project MEMORJA with the emphasis being on the oral/human aspect: the interviews that have been gathered up till the present. Every individual has a story to tell and this work is being conducted so that these experiences are not forgotten and lost. I will be speaking about the five themes which the National Archives of Malta is working on and how these came to be chosen, but mostly on the subjects upon which research is conducted primarily in Maltese, meaning Experiencing War: Survival, shelter and food, Public Administration and (maybe) Bell ringing (we will start tackling this theme in due time).
